Our client is a Canadian integrated oil and natural gas company headquartered in Calgary. They are committed to maximizing value by responsibly developing our assets in a safe, innovative and efficient way.
Operations include oil sands projects in northern Alberta, which use specialized methods to drill and pump the oil to the surface, and established natural gas and oil production in Alberta and British Columbia. We also have 50 percent ownership in two U.S. refineries.
Job Description
The Project Delivery team has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Environmental Regulatory Compliance Technical Lead to support the development, coordination, and execution of technical solutions for the Environmental Regulatory Compliance (ERC) Project.
Reporting to the ERC Project Manager, the role of the Technical Lead is pivotal to the success of our projects and solution development. This role works closely with the IT Architecture group and will follow direction from the assigned Architects to ensure designs are following corporate standards. The role involves a mixture of development and coordination tasks. The incumbent will be the interface between the design and business analysis work within our team. This is a technical role with a coordination portion, not the other way around.

Work Environment:
This is a 1-year contract position based in the downtown Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with relevant business and technical resources to gather and manage technical business requirements
Translate functional, non-functional, technical, and architectural requirements into a conceptual solution architecture that satisfies appropriate standards, legislative requirements, as well as architecture and security requirements?ound;?
Collaborate with Technical and Infrastructure teams to define the infrastructure requirements and design for the solution
Provide input into the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables
Act as an expert technical resource providing insight and recommendations based on industry and technology trends, system strategy and design
Provide the project team with technical direction and assist in guiding the technical design and development quality
Identify, document, and create awareness of any technical risk that may be introduced during a project
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in related discipline
Prior Solution Architecture experience is a must have
Minimum of 8-12 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 8-12 years' experience in contributing to the success of a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels
Experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with stakeholders
Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
Minimum 5 years' experience working with IS in an oil and gas domain
Minimum 5 years' experience working in solutions in an integrated environment
SAP experience with SAP PI/PO middleware is preferred

o Experienced in assessing business benefits, costs, and risks on multiple types of projects
